Now some more family history, Hans Freutel was the son of Paula Spiero, my great grandfather Heinrich Spiero's sister, who became Paula Freutel. The marriage did not last long. Paula was an opera singer struggling to support her two children Hans and Suzanne Freutel. Hans managed to get out of Germany on one of the last Kindertransport trains to Freedom in 1939 in the UK. He got teased really badly for being Jewish, but bete anybody up who teased him. He went on to become a great puppeteer, performing long before the Muppets all over Europe. He went by the stage name of Paul Hansard. I know them both who lived well in to their nineties and were echte gute froehliche Menschen. (Really good happy human beings.) So this street must be one of the cousins that somehow came to Oregon outside of Peoria. I almost rung the bell out of curiosity.
