As the climb begins, note this is again tree farming land. Trees have been recently clear cut here and a house put in. The trees are not the native REAL douglass fir, but the funny breed from weyerhauser that can only grow for 40 years instead of several hundred years. Note how spindly and unhealthy the trees look.
