Bicycle Tour led by me in Cuba in Winter 2003. This is my fourth time in Cuba leading a tour myself. I went to places I did before and also Veradero beach, Sancti Spirutus, Santo Domingo, Topo de las Callantes, Trinidad and Colon. Note, you have to scroll down to see the pictures at the bottom. Some of the captions are quite long. Thank you!

Today was a long day but quite doable. We left Sancti Spiritus at 9:45 AM after eating breakfast in a nice hotel with a courtyard. Today the some came out but it was breezy. We climbed to 500 feet and then back down to sea level. We saw beautiful cows and oxen grazing and went along the foot of the Escambray mountains. We could see the Tope de los Collantes mountain that I would climb tomorrow. Ray and I had 7 tomatoes with lots of salt and that got us to Trinidad. We then went 10 km further to Castilda where our Hotel Costa Sur was. It is situated at the southern tip of the peninsula right on the water. We saw a lovely sunset. It is so nice to hear and see the ocean here. It is breathtakingly beautiful. I had a great dinner. 2 orders of Spaghetti with shrimps, sauteed vegetables, mixed salad and Cuban eggs with rice and plantains plus 2 cups of chamomile tea. This is the best spaghetti I have eaten yet in Cuba. It is the real Italian stuff. In bed early tonight to climb the mountain, Topo de los Collantes tomorrow. I got an extra burst of energy on the ride today by drinking Garipo (straight ground sugar cane as a juice nothing added). I had 8 ounces of it. It was delicious and not real sweet. After that Ray could not catch me and I had to wait for him.

I will have future pics here for more travelogues in the future.
